MAC Goodies!

I have very long Mac wishlist on my phone ( don't we all ) today I fancied treating myself to my top four. Mac Face and Body Foundation is a light weight, water based foundation. This is great for mixing in with heavier foundation to sheer them out, which is what I intend to do with my Estee Lauder Double Wear.
It is great for photography making skin look like your skin but better. It is waterproof too so perfect to wear by the pool for some natural coverage. You can build this up to your desired coverage.
Mac Paint Pot -Soft Ochre this creates the perfect base for shadows, hides any redness or discolouration on lids. I love the soft neutral shade, its just brightens up my eyes. I have wanted this for ages! I don't know what took me so long to get it.
Mac Creme Cup is a cremesheen that everyone who's anyone owns! So naturally I had to have it too. It's a beautiful cool toned pink that suites virtually any skintone.
Mac Kinda Sexy is a gorgeous warm, nude matte lipstick. This makes a perfect base colour for lighter shades to be applied on top. For those of you who just can't do a deadly nude this one's for you!
Top to bottom - Creme Cup Cremesheen, Kinda Sexy Matte
What are some of your favourite Mac products? Will I be adding more to my wishlist?

May Favourites

Hello lovelies I know I'm rather late in the day with my May Favourites but better late than never. I really shopped my stash this time as some of these products I have literally had for years! These are just some of my go to products that I can throw on at 6am with my eyes closed. I go through these phases of wanting to use things up and my theory is to use the heck out of them during the work week! I leave weekends and days off for experimentation and brand new make-up. Check out my video below.

Laura Mercier Mineral Foundation | Review

Hello lovelies. So I caved and bought the Laura Mercier Mineral Foundation. I have heard so much about this foundation but being a true devotee to Bare minerals I was hesitant to try it. I got the shade Rich Vanilla which is a tad too dark for me, will be perfect when I'm tanned. The powder itself is so finely milled it buffs onto skin like silk for a gorgeous glowing ( not shiny) complexion.

Description from the LM website here

  • Oil free and water-resistant
  • Apply as a buildable foundation or a pigmented powder
  • Pure Pearl Powders and Mica impart a soft focus effect creating a natural, healthy, youthful glow
  • Zinc Oxide works as a sunscreen agent to block the sun's harmful rays
  • Contains anti-aging properties
  • Apply Mineral Primer to skin prior to application to enhance SPF 15 protection
  • Use with the Blending Brush for flawless application
  • Use with the Face Brush for more coverage
  • Non-comedogenic
  • 0.34 oz./9.6g

  • This works wonderfully over any foundation as a luminous setting powder or if in a slightly darker shade, to add some colour and dimension to your skin. It has an almost invisible texture that gives  medium to full coverage in seconds. I prefer to wear this over a BB cream like Rachel K or Garnier for bit more coverage. I find that this doesn't cake up or get chalky around my chin or nose. It makes my skin look so smooth and healthy. I like to apply this with the real techniques buffing brush as I find this picks up and holds the right amount of product.
Laura Mercier Mineral Foundation comes in eight shades. The container has a nifty twist and lock cover that's easy to open and close.
I must say I am rather impressed with this foundation and if you are on the fence about trying it, I say try it!

Watch my video below to see how I apply it.

    Current Face Base

Hello lovelies apologies for being MIA. I thought I would come back with my favourite topic foundation. I do love a flawless face, don't we all? It has been a while since I strayed from my beloved Bare minerals but I had heard so much about the Laura Mercier mineral foundation and ofcourse those of you who watch  LisaLisaD1 will know it is her holy grail foundation. She always has this beautiful glow to her skin and now I know why. I took the plunge and bought the shade Rich Vanilla which is perfect for when I'm self tanned. In hindsight I should of got Sand which is one shade lighter. Never the less it is a gorgeous warm colour that brings my face to life. The texture is so fine and it buffs into the skin like silk. The finish is absolutely stunning. Skin looks smooth and radiant. It doesn't get oily or chalky during the day and doesn't disintegrate at all. It looks perfect all day long. I am truly amazed by this foundation. I have been pairing it up with the Garnier BB cream for oily/combo skin which is phenomenal for a BB cream. The coverage is medium to full. It mattifies the skin, covers imperfections and stays put all day. Winner! I pop on some Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer in the shade light under my eyes and away I go. This takes less than five minutes to do in the morning.

What is your current face base?

    Sunday's FOTD

Hello lovelies. It was the most glorious sunny day yesterday so me and the bf decided to go for a pub lunch by the river. I was feeling summery so decided to bust out the bronze! This is one of my favourite looks in the summertime. It's so easy but looks so effortless and you don't feel like you are caked in makeup. It feels light and fresh, perfect for a day in the sun. I find a coppery eye paired with bubblegum pink lips such a complimentary combination.

Goodies I got for Christmas & Sephora Haul

Hello lovelies how are you today? I wanted to share with you some lovely pressies I got for Christmas and a few bits that I picked up from Sephora while I was in the States. I am like a kid in a sweet shop I just want to play with everything and pretty much buy everything too! So for Christmas and Birthdays my sister and I make lists of things we would like so our parents and eachother can pick and choose. So, my lovely lil sis got me the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Vanilla which I am obsessed with and a Nars lip gloss in the colour Belize. I adore this ever since I saw Louise from Made In Chelsea wear it. Its a nude mauve with golden flecks, stunning! Then from my Mummy dearest I got the Estee Lauder Automatic Duo Lip Pencil in the shade Fig ( Jennifer Anistons fav pencil didn't ya know) yes that's exactly why I wanted it. It really is the perfect shade of nude. Next was my Estee Lauder Double Wear Eye Pencil in the shade Coffee. This is the most richest shade of brown you will ever find, doesn't budge. Great alternative to black. From my lovely boyfriend I got a Prada L'eau gift set which came with a mini body lotion and a gorge cosmetic pouch.
While in Las Vegas my sister and I visited Sephora literally everyday! I picked up some long overdue coveted items- Josie Maran Argan Illuminser: the most amazing highlighter, glow giver I have ever used. Too Faced Lip Injection Color Bomb in Never Enough Nude: have been desperate for this ever since I saw Vanessa Bombshell Suite talk about it in one of her videos. Plumps my lips up something amazing! Gives a lovely satin finish too. Loving! Next up BareMinerals Original SPF 15 Foundation in the shade Light. Me and sissy normally wear Matte but she picked up the Original by mistake, it looks so gorgeous on her I just had to have it too.
Last but not least I was pottering in around in CVS and saw Wet N Wild Reserve Your Cabana as I have heard so many superb things about it I had to get it , naturally. This is a really nice toned down highlight, great for work or setting under eye concealer.
So there you have it. No more shopping for this girl! Project shop my stash has begun! Who's with me?!
please watch my video below to see these beauties in action.

Thank you all so much for stopping by I love interacting with you so please do leave me a lovely comment :)

My Top 3 Full Coverage Foundations

Happy Tuesday lovelies! I wanted to share with you my most loved full coverage foundations. These three have never let me down when it comes to flawless skin perfection. What I love most about these is not only is their staying power second to none, but the effects you can achieve with different application methods is endless. They are so versatile and wearable for any occasion. So lets start off with good old Revlon Colorstay. At around £12.00 you just can't go wrong. It offers light weight buildable coverage,it doesn't smudge or come off on clothes and its lasts for up to 24hrs! *wowzers* It looks natural on the skin and it doesn't cause me any breakouts whatsoever and I've slept in this stuff *tut tut* This is a great foundation if you are on a budget or for school. There are two versions, one for oily skin and one for dry skin. Perfect! Next up drum roll please,Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup SPF 10 you can read a full review here
This foundation is the pièce de résistance of full coverage. It lasts up to 15hrs. It will not budge until you remove it. Perfect for long work days or nights out. Some people say they get a white cast when photographed but I don't at all. I've worn this to many a party and it looks great. My preferred method of application is with a damp beauty blender which gives the perfect amount of coverage without looking too overdone. If I'm having a bad skin day I will apply with my Sigma F80 for maximum coverage. It's pricey at £27.50 but well worth it!This is brilliant for all us oily skin gals, if you're dry be sure to use a good moisturiser underneath. Last but certainly not least is Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation. This has a mousse like texture that is highly pigmented but not thick and heavy. It melts into skin for a full coverage flawless complexion. Its a dream to blend, long lasting, natural finish and suitable for all skin types. If you are very oily you might want to set with a good powder. This retails at £34 uber expensive but such a great investment if you want perfect looking skin or for that special occasion.
Tell me what foundations you use I would love to know :)

    The Weekend Face-BareMinerals

Hello lovelies todays post is all about keeping it simple, fresh and natural. I work front of house in a law firm so I need to be as put together as possible. I usually wear a full coverage foundation, eye shadow, lipstick, bronzer, blush, powder you name it!  The weekend is my time to relax and give my face a breather. For that I choose Bareminerals Original foundation which I have totally fallen head of heels in love with. I remember when I first used it over twelve years ago! Its quick and easy to apply without feeling and looking overdone. It creates the most luminous, healthy complexion. I just can't get enough of it. I apply it with my trusty kabuki brush in seconds and I'm ready to go!
There is just something special about Bareminerals, nothing comes close. I don't know weather its nostalgia but I just feel myself when I have it on. I feel perhaps I like the way I look with less makeup on. I typically don't wear eyes shadow or mascara on days off. I like being fresh faced and fancy free! There are times when I don't put on a scratch of makeup and then I pop to the shops and wished I had! Below is a video showing you how I like to apply Bareminerals Original foundation.

    BareMinerals Face Basics

Hello Lovelies, how are you today? Today I would like to share my Bareminerals obsession. Some of you may already know this about me, but I have been a Baremineral makeup user for over twelve years now, and although I may stray I always come back to it. I love the whole concept of mineral makeup, its pure and natural and good for your skin. I wish this had been around when I was in high school struggling with my horrible skin. I first heard about Bareminerals on an infomercial whilst in the States. Leslie Blodgett creator of Bareminerals was so warm and personable and most importantly believed in her brand and helping woman look and feel good about their skin. Having bad skin myself I thought I had to try this stuff. I got my self a started kit and never looked back. I got my sister, friends and cousins using it too! There are three foundations to choose from.

Original SPF 15 which has a soft luminous finish good for all skin types especially dry skin, improves the appearance of skin over time.

Matte SPF 15 which is perfect for oily problem skin helping to reduce pore size and promotes cell turnover, has a soft matte finish.

Ready SPF 20 which is the newest foundation, uses solid mineral technology  that provides 12 hour  wear, buildable coverage and 108%  hydration all in compact form. This is great for all skin types or those who are looking for very full coverage. Use with the flat top precision brush in smooth, long strokes.

Mineral Veil- This is the crème de la crème of all finishing powders! It is so fine its almost invisible but once swept over the skin the transformation to sheer perfection is hard to ignore. This is the final touch to your Bareminerals makeup and it truly is worth the hype! It literally transforms your skin into soft focus flawlessness! You can choose translucent, tinted, hydrating or both! I would never be without it.

Concealers- These little pots of pure crushed minerals provide SPF 20 protection, high pigmented coverage for on the spot application to cover acne scars, blemishes and pigmentation, even dark circles. Bareminerals now have cream and liquid  based concealers too. My favourites are Summer Bisque which I use to hide my pigmentation and Well Rested which I use under my eyes and as an eyelid base, to brighten up the eye area. It definitely lives up to its name!

Radiance- these are sheer washes of colour that can be used all over the face to create a celestial glow or to gently highlight the tops of cheekbones. Choose from an array of pink to peach to clear and rosy shades. I love Clear Radiance which gives a soft moonlit glow and Tropical Radiance which gives the most gorgeous golden peach glow, perfect for the summer with a tan.

Blush -is pretty self explanatory. You can choose from the Ready compact versions or the loose. I adore the loose Vintage Peach which is a gorgeous pinkie/peach shade with little flecks of gold.

Bareminerals is one of the most loved and cherished leading minerals brands in the world and I can see why. Loyal customer following of Leslie Blodgett who has poured her heart and soul into this makeup which shows on millions of women's faces each day.

    Have you tried Bareminerals?

    Get Your Glow On

Hello lovelies, so I posted this selfie the other day on Instagram and got quite a few comments on how good my skin looked, so I thought I would share with you what I used. My skin is by no means perfect so that was a major compliment. I have been absolutely obsessed with my new Rachel K CC renew cream in light, (review here ) it is just the perfect accompaniment to mineral powder. There is something about Bareminerals, matte in particular that photographs beautifully. It never looks shiny in photos or overly made up. Used in conjunction with the CC cream you get the right amount of hold and coverage that will last all day without the need for touch ups. It's glowy, soft focus, natural looking makeup that is so quick and easy to apply. I feel more myself with less makeup up on.

Makeup for Work & Job Interviews

Hello lovelies, I though I would share my current makeup routine, its so quick and the results are flawless! Today a colleague said I look fresh! Exactly what I was going for! This is perfect for work in corporate environments or for an interview.
In my job I meet and greet important clients daily. I need to look polished and professional at all times. This everyday makeup look is perfect because the client sees you and not your makeup. The same goes for job interviews. If you rock up with blue eyeshadow and neon nails to a law or finance interview you may give off the wrong impression and the attention of the interviewer will be on your makeup and not you as a potential employee. Some people may say well that's me like it or leave but think about it, at home you love wearing your onesie although  you wouldn't wear it to the supermarket because it not appropriate for that environment. You have to be able to adjust to different situations and environments professionally without compromising your personality.

So here is what I have been using-

I have totally fallen inlove with my Sigma F80 flat top kabuki brush, this blends my makeup like a dream in two seconds flat! It gives the perfect amount of coverage and a seamless finish.
I have been using Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation in shade 4.0, now I don't know if my skin has gone dry or its the weather, but this has been holding up really well and not getting oily at all! I use the Rachel K CC cream in neutral underneath which acts a primer, it really does make your skin smooth and silky.Concealer of choice is Maybelline Instant Age Rewind in light, I am loving this, I use it practically all over my face as a highlight. I then finish with my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte powder in 001 translucent. My blush of the moment is Nars Deepthroat *giggle giggle* it just warms up my skin with a hint of sparkle, I always get compliments when I'm wearing this. I don't really do bronzer in winter so one less thing to fuss about on early mornings.
On my eyes I have been using MAC paint in bare canvas, this just cancels out any redness on my eyelids and makes me look a bit more awake.
For lips I usually go for the nearest lipstick at hand, usually a pink.

    Workday Morning Routine

Hello beauty babes! So I thought I would keep you up to date with my everyday makeup look for work and how I like to get ready in the morning.
As if getting up early isn't hard enough it's cold and dark too now! There is nothing more excruciating for me than my alarm going off at 6am and having to get out of my warm, snug bed! I hate getting up early, no I really hate it! First things first I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth whilst in my mind cursing the ungodly hour. I then put the TV on so I can watch 90210 while I have my breakfast, I find this eases me into life again and calms me down, plus I like looking at the makeup the girls wear!
I put the kettle on and my porridge in the microwave, I curse the ungodly hour. Now I check the time on the TV, at 6:45 nearing 6:50 as I'm already engrossed in 90210, I head to my room to do my makeup and get dressed. I have to be out the door by 7:25 to get the 7:34 train. Once I start on my makeup, time goes out the window, I don't check my clock at all! I find doing my makeup such an enjoyable, soothing ritual. I do the same look everyday bar my lips. I like to look fresh and awake, so pink blush, no eyeliner, curled lashes and lots of black mascara! This look is quick, easy and appropriate for a corporate work environment.

Here is what I use starting from my skincare:

    Bare Minerals Purifying Facial Cleanser
    Bare Minerals Multi-Wrinkle Repair Serum
Rachel K CC Cream in Neutral

Foundation Estee Lauder DoubleWear in Dawn 2w1
Concealer Collection 2000 in medium 3
Nivea Lip Butter in Caramel Cream
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 001
    Bourjois Chocolate Bronzing Powder
Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzer in Antigua
Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Power in my socket line to define eye
    Mascara Maybelline One by One
Lips NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Nude Peach Fuzz
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation Review

Ok so I'm really late on the bandwagon with this one but I've been debating purchasing Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation for a loooong time! I've read countless reviews but still felt a bit underwhelmed. I finally succumbed after watching my favourite YouTuber, Sam Schuerman here wear this in almost every one of her recent videos and I was like gosh what is on her skin! This was it!  So off I went to Debenhams Oxford Street to have a gander!
When you read the description of this foundation it sounds amazing all singing all dancing!
It all comes down to trial and error. So lets see if this really does what it says on the tin!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation  says its a weightless ultra definition liquid makeup
its paraben free, anti-ageing,  contains skin nourishing  and anti oxidant green tea extract, It's oil free, it optically blurrs imperfections with its light reflecting technology, skin is airbrushed with a demi matte finish. It comes in 18 shades. Shades ending in  0 denotes cool undertones whilst shades ending in 5 symbolises warm undertones.
It allows buildable coverage and comes in a hygienic pump. I purchased the shade 4 which is for medium skin tones with golden/olive undertones. I basically wanted it to match my EL Doublewear shade I had on.Most cosmetic counters in department stores in the UK are reluctant to give out foundation samples which is a real shame how do they expect customers to trial run a foundation?( rant post coming soon) so anyway I had the sales assistant apply a few shades on one side of my face and 4 seemed to match perfectly to my otherside with the ELDW on. Sold!
As I made my way home on the DLR ( this is like a tram link my none UK lovelies) I whipped out my mirror to see what it looked like in broad daylight. I must say it looked pretty good close up, really smooth and airbrushed compared to my other side.

Now the true test for me is the work day! How will this hold up from when I put it on at 7am till I take it off at 9pm? How will it look after the lunchtime blot? If it stands up too all these things then it will be a winner for me! So today is the trial run!

So I used one and a half pumps on the back of my hand and applied it with my beloved beauty blender ( yes you do need this!) Then my usual collections concealer under my eyes and finished with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder.

Here's how it looked this morning and at the end of the day!

    Foundation Frenzy!!

Ok, I am having major foundation issues. I've gone from buying a ton of foundations to now narrowing it down to just two that I like best. I want to decide on just one! Can you believe it? me the foundation fanatic having just one? I'm torn between Estee Lauder Double Wear and Bare Minerals Matte. I go to sleep thinking about it! Off topic but this reminds me when I was at school and I had pencil case problem haha I would switch out my pencil cases daily because I couldn't decide which one I wanted to use! I'm weird I know!

So every morning I go through a mini battle of which foundation I am going to use, shall I use a BB cream underneath? primer or no primer? beauty blender? brush? and all throughout the day I'm checking my face in the bathroom mirror, in the mirror in my bag, in the cloak room mirror, taking my picture at lunchtime, I could go on! I scrutinise my face on an hourly basis! I love the coverage and the smoothness of ELDW, it completely eliminates my pores, stayes put, never have to touch up. Bare Minerals I have been loyal to for over 10 years but sometimes it just doesn't want to work! Did I get a bad batch? Sometimes I apply it with MAC's Fix Plus sprayed onto my kabuki brush for more coverage but you have to work quickly and sometimes it goes patchy at the centre of my face. Today I'm using it normally and  it looks ok but  it can look a tad chalky and it tends to dissappear on the sides of my nose and chin and after lunchtime blotting it just look yuk!

On my days off I rarely go for the DW as I feel its too much makeup for just pottering about or is it?
I think I'm going mad! I need help! How many foundations do you own? what do you use everyday? Do you have different ones for work, day off, going out? what do you look for in a foundation?

I always think, right If someone comments on my makeup today, that will be the winner! No one ever does haha

Maybe I should just use which ever one I feel like on the day and quit stressing about it lol
I still have an urge to try the Laura Mercier mineral powder and Estee Lauders Maxium Coverage foundation. Have any of you tried these?

If you are a foundation freak like me, then you will understand my woes!
