The Perfect Dupe || Diorskin Nude BB Creme

Top- Garnier BB cream | bottom Diorskin Nude BB

Hello lovelies, so I think I have found the perfect dupe for Diorskin Nude BB Creme! The Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream for oily/combination skin. The moment I tried it it reminded me so much of the Diorskin, the finish is near on the same. They both provide excellent coverage and dry to an almost powdery finish. The textures are different though, the Garnier is really runny and a tad hard to control, the Diorskin is much thicker and smoother in texture. I always set with a powder and find that they both last the same amount of time (8hrs) before wearing off. So if you have oily/acne prone skin and are looking for something light weight but doesn't compromise on coverage, then I think the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector is the one for you! At around £7.99 you can't go wrong.

Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer

Ok so I've mentioned this little gem briefly in my Christmas/Sephora haul, but I think this magical bottle of champagne-y sheen deserves a post all of its own. What is it? Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer is a glow giving, multi tasking 100% pure argan oil that rejuvenates and replenishes skin. It has a touch of bronze to subtly warm up any skin tone and a pinch of glimmer that is so subtle it makes skin attract the light for a diffused, radiant all over glow. It can be used to highlight tops of cheekbones, wake up tired eyes when used on the lids or my favourite, mixed in with a tinted moisturiser or foundation. If you have dull, tired skin or are looking a bit worse for wear, this will transform your face in seconds! You will look like you have had your full 8hrs of sleep and then some!
Its fragrance free, paraben free and sulphate free. I am so impressed with this product and the brand philosophy that I can't wait to try out more from Josie Maran.

Thank you for reading and taking the time to leave me comments, I enjoy reading all of them.

BareMinerals Face Basics

Hello Lovelies, how are you today? Today I would like to share my Bareminerals obsession. Some of you may already know this about me, but I have been a Baremineral makeup user for over twelve years now, and although I may stray I always come back to it. I love the whole concept of mineral makeup, its pure and natural and good for your skin. I wish this had been around when I was in high school struggling with my horrible skin. I first heard about Bareminerals on an infomercial whilst in the States. Leslie Blodgett creator of Bareminerals was so warm and personable and most importantly believed in her brand and helping woman look and feel good about their skin. Having bad skin myself I thought I had to try this stuff. I got my self a started kit and never looked back. I got my sister, friends and cousins using it too! There are three foundations to choose from.

Original SPF 15 which has a soft luminous finish good for all skin types especially dry skin, improves the appearance of skin over time.

Matte SPF 15 which is perfect for oily problem skin helping to reduce pore size and promotes cell turnover, has a soft matte finish.

Ready SPF 20 which is the newest foundation, uses solid mineral technology  that provides 12 hour  wear, buildable coverage and 108%  hydration all in compact form. This is great for all skin types or those who are looking for very full coverage. Use with the flat top precision brush in smooth, long strokes.

Mineral Veil- This is the crème de la crème of all finishing powders! It is so fine its almost invisible but once swept over the skin the transformation to sheer perfection is hard to ignore. This is the final touch to your Bareminerals makeup and it truly is worth the hype! It literally transforms your skin into soft focus flawlessness! You can choose translucent, tinted, hydrating or both! I would never be without it.

Concealers- These little pots of pure crushed minerals provide SPF 20 protection, high pigmented coverage for on the spot application to cover acne scars, blemishes and pigmentation, even dark circles. Bareminerals now have cream and liquid  based concealers too. My favourites are Summer Bisque which I use to hide my pigmentation and Well Rested which I use under my eyes and as an eyelid base, to brighten up the eye area. It definitely lives up to its name!

Radiance- these are sheer washes of colour that can be used all over the face to create a celestial glow or to gently highlight the tops of cheekbones. Choose from an array of pink to peach to clear and rosy shades. I love Clear Radiance which gives a soft moonlit glow and Tropical Radiance which gives the most gorgeous golden peach glow, perfect for the summer with a tan.

Blush -is pretty self explanatory. You can choose from the Ready compact versions or the loose. I adore the loose Vintage Peach which is a gorgeous pinkie/peach shade with little flecks of gold.

Bareminerals is one of the most loved and cherished leading minerals brands in the world and I can see why. Loyal customer following of Leslie Blodgett who has poured her heart and soul into this makeup which shows on millions of women's faces each day.

Have you tried Bareminerals?

New Rachel K CC Renew Cream

Hello lovelies. Todays post is about the new and improved Rachel K CC Cream. Rachel K is a makeup and skincare brand from Singapore created by beauty queen and Miss Universe Rachel Kum.
CC cream is a more refined version of the BB cream, its complete anti-age skincare and complexion correction in one.

Rachel K CC Renew instantly corrects and repairs skin damage with a list of anti-oxidant properties and natural ingredients.
It has a sheer to medium coverage, comes in three shades, very light, light and medium. It has SPF 30 and it good for all skin types.

Basically you get all this in one tube! Amazing right?!

Paraben Free                Dullness                            Deep Sea Water
Oil Free                        Blemishes                         Shea Butter
No Talc                        Pigmentation/age spots     Macadamia Nut Oil
No Sulphates                Blotchy patches                EGF (growth factor that stimulates cell growth)

Since the launch of Rachel K CC cream in 2010, global brands worldwide have launched their own version of the CC cream but none could ever rival this one in my eyes. It became popular by word of mouth rather than ad campaigns, which is so true because I first heard about it from the lovely LisaLisaD1 from youtube and was amazed at how good Lisa's skin looked after she had applied it. I had to have it immediately! I have the shade light and the shade neutral in the old version. I primarily use this under my foundation as my skincare and primer. Its works beautifully in conjunction with mineral makeup too.

My current foundations

So here are some foundations that I currently own and use intermittently. For work I use Estee Lauder DoubleWear Light, this stays put all day and does not get shiny once set with powder. I had been using Revlon Colourstay for combination/oily for a long time, nearly a year!! I have never finished a bottle of foundation since this one! It is very long lasting, stays fresh and doesn't oxidise. Sometimes it can look to makeupy if that makes sense? Then there is Laura Mercier Silk Creme, the rave reviews for this was unbelievable so I had to try it!! This takes alot of getting used to and the application method is key. I have applied this with fingers, an assortment of brushes and a sponge. The best way this works, I find is with a sponge. It is very thick in consistency, but spreads like a dream. You really don't need alot at all. I find if you put just a bit too much it gets cakey throughout the day. Just a small amount spread lightly with a sponge give a beautiful finish. This does get shiny during the day and I have to blot several times but it does look beautiful in pictures! I set this with MAC Mineralize and normally wear this on the weekends. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk this is great if you have a perfect complexion or had a late night and want to look fresh. I haven't found the best way to apply this yet, it doesn't give me enough coverage and it makes my face shine like a disco ball. So I only ever use this on super skin days. Lastly Chanel Double Perfection Matt Powder Foundation so I got this off EBay as it is not sold here in the UK. I wanted this so badly as Cupcakekissesxxx on youtube swears by this.
This does not give me any coverage and does not last till lunch time! My face literally eats this up.
I really wanted to love this so have tried it again and again, wet , dry, brush, sponge but to no avail.
I think this for me just works for touch up during the day of as a setting powder.
The quest for the perfect foundation continues.
What are some of your go to foundations? and how do you like to apply them?
