Sporting my post summer glow after nine glorious days on the Greek Island of Rhodes. What a beautiful, ancient land bursting with history and breathtaking scenery. We stayed at the Elysium Resort and Spa, a fantastic five star hotel with one of the most stunning beaches. If you are looking for pure luxury this is it.
We took the local bus into Old Town, the medieval city of Rhodes almost every evening for dinner. I really wanted authentic, fresh Greek food. Needless to say we ate a lot of Souvlaki and plenty of fresh fish. The weather was perfect, blue skies and sunshine save for the evenings when it was still warm but very windy. We rented a car for one day to drive up to Lindos and the Valley of the Butterflies.
Now makeup wise I switched between my Bareminerals and Estee Lauder DoubleWear which is what I'm wearing in the photo above. I love the whole routine of being at the beach all day to get back to your room, shower and get ready for dinner. It was still pretty hot and humid in the evening and I must say my makeup held up incredibly well. I brought one blush and one blush only, Benefit Coralista! It is the perfect blush and highlight in one.
I adore perfume. I love cocooning myself in a familiar favourite. I love looking at the beautifully designed bottles on my dresser. I don't just wear perfume for the sake of smelling good, each one of these make me feel a certain way. I have a fragrance for work, weekends, lounging at home days and going out in the evenings. You may have one perfume that you wear all the time regardless and that works for you but you may want to broaden your perfume horizons. For example, if like me, you work in an office surrounded by other people you might want to be considerate ofyourcolleagues and not wear a scent that's so overpowering it gives them a headache. It may be your most beloved perfume but save it for "you" days. Consider going for something light and fresh. Typically I will wear a light body mist or my new favourite for spring, See by Chloe ( center) this is a clean, scent that's very delicate and rather sophisticated. When I want to feel cozy and comforted, I will wear Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay or D&G La Roue De La Fortune of which I have purchased over three times I love it that much! On dates with the bf or nights out I like to wear something sexy like Victoria's Secret Noir Tease or Prada Candy L'eau. These are both yummy sweet scents that make me feel delectable! Perfumes are categorized by groups called families to help you differentiate the types of scent you like or go for. So when shopping, sales assistants can quickly ascertain what fragrance group to show you, rather than going through every single perfume on the shelf. The four standard families are Floral, Oriental, Woody and Fresh. These are then divided in to sub categories, but we don't need to go into that, lets just stick with the basics. Here are mine.

Hello lovelies. I'm the kind of person that flits from one hair dresser to another or waits for the Headmasters 50% colour sale to get my full head of highlights. Its usually a long arduous ordeal that can be pretty expensive too. Its hard to find a happy medium of price and quality. Well I think I have found "The One". Nestled in the heart of Oxford Street, the little gem that is Tomoyuki & Co a boutique hair salon comprised of two of the most talented and experienced hair stylists in London. Award winning Japanese stylist Tomoyuki, who has over eighteen years experience and has worked with the likes of Olivia Palermo and Caroline Flack. Then there is the incredible Iris who highlighted my hair. Iris knows exactly what tones and colours will compliment you and your style the most.
My hair was becoming one block colour so Iris carefully selected two warm blonde tones and one brighter blonde, creating the most gorgeous dimensional shades. It looks so natural and effortless. I love it! I also appreciated how gentle she was with my hair, usually I get stylists pulling and yanking my hair so bad I end up with a headache. The salon itself is immaculate and beautifully designed for a relaxing and calming atmosphere. They had the most wonderful green tea that I had many a cup of. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with such warmth and professionalism.
So if you have yet to be impressed by your regular colour and cut job you must pay Tomoyuki & Co a visit, you will not be disappointed.
Hello lovelies. Last Saturday was my Birthday and now its over boo! I love Birthdays and pretty much celebrate them for the whole weekend! So on Friday we started the Birthday celebration at the Sanderson hotel in London for the Mad Hatters Tea Party. How very delightful! How cute are those tea pots?! I want one.
It did look superb! One thing I will say is that the cakes and sandwiches could have tasted better and the service could be bumped up a notch! I have high expectations when I go to an establishment like this so quality and professionalism is standard in my book. Has anyone been here before? What do you think? I want to find the best afternoon tea in town! Perhaps the Ritz next?
Hey lovelies! How was your weekend? Mine was great! On Saturday we went down to Regents Street in London for the NFL Block Party! I'm not a huge sports fan but I do love the whole
atmosphere surrounding it especially American Football. This is a huge thing for the Americans, Sunday's are game days where everyone gets together to cheer on their favourite team, proudly sport their team colours and cook up a storm in the kitchen or have barbecues. Yum!
I didn't know NFL had so many UK fans! Over 1 million people came to the block party! It was so much fun and the best part was the food! Oh how I gorged on Almost Famous burgers and bags of Kettle Corn! There were performances from the Minnesota Viking Cheerleaders and interviews with some of the American sports presenters. It was absolutely buzzing!
At 6pm the game kicked off between the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburg Steelers at the Wembley Stadium. The American National Anthem was sung by Gene Simmons from Kiss! There was a performance by Tinie Tempah and the fabulous cheerleaders! There was even a Tailgate party in the parking lot! People came from far and wide to support their teams. I have never been to a game but after seeing all this, I definitely want to next time! Now I just have to find a team I like.
Autumn is my favourite season, I love the smell in the air, the crispness in the morning layered with warm sunshine gently closing the door on summer. It's time to get out the chunky knits and woolly socks and prance around in all the luscious leaves! Lets collect some chestnuts and play conkers!! anyone remember that? There is something so magical about this season and so much to enjoy and look forward to! Pumpkin lattes! I could not imagine living in a place that didn't have four seasons.
New season, new makeup! now we can sport those berry stained lips, mink eyelids with smokey kohl rims and terracotta cheeks. I think one should change up their makeup with each season, you wouldn't wear the same clothes as you wear in the summer would you?
Here is what I'm loving this fall
Hello lovelies, happy Monday!! I am always intrigued what is in other peoples bags. What do they carry around on a daily basis and what on earth to I have in my bag!
I think I usually carry around a bunch of useless items, but having gone through it, I'm quite pleased with what I have and I use and need all those things. I am loving my new blue Zara bag, its so summery and bright and goes with alot of my outfits I'm wearing at the moment. I love how this has as small zip pocket at the back where I can easily access my house keys and oyster card. I like minimum faff when it comes to bags. I like enough space that I can fill it up should I need to and a good amount of compartments to put things like my powder and mirror.
For my outfit of the day, I paired a floaty, polker dot dress from Hollister with some metal gold detailed sandals from Dune and some fun jewellery from Forever 21. This clutch is from All Saints and still keeps the outfit casual.
For my nails I am just obsessed with China Glaze Pool Party! This is as neon as it gets baby!
Check out my what's in my bag video below and my shoddy attempt of filming OOTD!!
Hey at least I give you a laugh if nothing else haha :-)
Jacket Vila, Tank Primark, Jeggings American Eagle, Bag Zara,Shoes, Sketchers Go Walk
Hello lovelies, here in the UK the sun has finally decided to show up for more than an hour a day!
So I thought it's about time to get my summer clothes into gear!
I am loving blue and white and this jacket is one of my favourites at the moment. Its smart but also very casual, which I like. I managed to move on from my beloved leggings to jeggings! I love these pink ones from American Eagle, they are super comfy and ofcourse stretchy which is a must for me. There is nothing worse than being squished into a tight pair of jeans unable to breathe.
I've got my trusted Primark tank top on and my brand new purchase, my Zara bag.
My shoes, oh my gosh are amazing!!They are the Sketcher Go Walk, they are literally the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. They are super light weight and really bendy. They are supposed to move with the natural movements of your foot and mold to your shape so it gives you the most natural walking experience without you putting unnecessary pressure on your feet.
Thanks for stopping by :-) what are some of your favourite summer outfits?
I find it quite hard to eat healthy at work and not spend loads of money at the same time. I feel like I waste so much money on food at work. If you are spending £5.00 a day and that's not including coffees, that comes to roughly £100 a month! on what? a sandwich, drink and crisps? shoddy salads? I rather spend that on makeup! My colleague and I do a salad ingredient shop and get a packet of wraps once a week, split between us. We make our own salads at work, sometimes we add prawns or chicken but mostly veg. We always dress it olive oil and lemon juice. Heres one we made earlier!
I think I looked rather smart today ;-) My skirt and blazer are from H&M and my boob tube I got years ago from Jane Norman.
I wore these super navy suede booties from good old Marks and Spencers. They are so comfortable, they have that special squidgy insole. It was a good day. It's funny how much better I feel when I'm happy with my outfit. It's worth putting in a bit of extra effort thinking about what to wear for the day
Quite recently I have been suffering with terrible bloating and was worried it could be Irritable Bowl Syndrome. I went to my GP and he said it could be stress or my diet. I started to read up on bloating and found out wheat and whole grain could be the culprit. Every time I ate wholegrain cereals or bread my stomach would balloon, people thought I was pregnant! It was really painful and super embarrassing. I was so worried to eat anything. My sissy who has an entire blog on healthy eating http://feelgoodfancyfree.blogspot.com/told me about this cereal as she has cut out all types of wheat and wholegrain, she even makes flourless and gluten free cakes! So I have cut out all forms of regular pasta, rice, bread for gluten free where I can and I feel so much better for it. This cereal is delish and I get no bloating at all! I have this with Almond milk as I have also cut out dairy. You can find this in the Free From isle in your local supermarket.
So I went on a mini shopping spree the other day, in search of some fancy sandals. I have got tiny feet (size 1-2) so its really hard to find shoes that aren't falling of my feet. So I pop into Dune, and low and behold they are having a mega sale, and I found these beauties!! Originally £65 each down to £36 each! bargain! and the sales assistant said the size 3 comes up really small that she had to go up a size, perfect for me. They actually fit well are are just what I had in mind. The bracelet and the ring in the left hand corner are from Banana Republic, sticking with the gold and brown theme I thought these would go hand in hand with my gold sandals and a black maxi dress!
Watch my summer haul below :-)
I also fancied a big floppy hat to wear on the beach or by the pool. I came across this beauty in Banana Republic on sale from £39.00 to just £13.50!!
This is going to look the bomb with a white or navy bikini!
