FOTD || OOTD

Necklaces are from an Etsy store called Layered & Long

Hello lovelies. Friday was a glorious sunshine filled day. I went for a fresh bohemian kind of look. I'm not quite ready to squeeze my butt into a pair of shorts so I opted for this maxi skirt from H&M. It is nice and light weight and doesn't cling to wobbly bits. I love pinning my hair up like this as it gives me a bit of volume. For make-up I kept it simple with Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation in 4.0, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer in light, Bare minerals matte in fairly light,Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzer in Antigua 2, Covergirl Lash Blast mascara and Benefit Coralista lip gloss. Et Voila!

Hair Care Essentials For Fine Limp Locks

Hello lovelies. Today I wanted to share with you my three must have products to boost lifeless hair.
I have baby fine hair that is highlighted. If I don't put any product in my hair, it will just look like a limp mop!
I have found these three beauties to cover all bases. Heat protection and hair repair, detangling and boosting roots for mega volume. Once I've stepped out of the shower, I spray Revlon Equave liberally all over my hair, this is a volumizing, detangling leave in conditioner. I have used this for years! It really helps with my super knotty hair plus the added volume is a bonus. I then use the Kerastase Ciment Thermique a heat activated reconstructing milk for brittle, damaged hair. Again I have used this for years!it's amazing for over processed hair. It leaves my hair silky soft and in great condition. For roots I go in with my trusty Paul Mitchell Extra Body Daily Boost. This is great because its specifically for use at the roots, giving mega lift and the handy nozzle is brilliant for really getting in there.
I typically wash my hair two to three times a week. On "dirty" hair days I just spray in some Batiste XXL Volume which brings my hair back to life in seconds and works brilliantly at keeping a pony tail in place.

New Hair- New Salon

Hello lovelies. I'm the kind of person that flits from one hair dresser to another or waits for the Headmasters 50% colour sale to get my full head of highlights. Its usually a long arduous ordeal that can be pretty expensive too. Its hard to find a happy medium of price and quality. Well I think I have found "The One". Nestled in the heart of  Oxford Street, the little gem that is Tomoyuki & Co  a boutique hair salon comprised of two of the most talented and experienced hair stylists in London. Award winning Japanese stylist Tomoyuki, who has over eighteen years experience and has worked with the likes of Olivia Palermo and Caroline Flack. Then there is the incredible Iris who highlighted my hair. Iris knows exactly what tones and colours will compliment you and your style the most.
My hair was becoming one block colour so Iris carefully selected two warm blonde tones and one brighter blonde, creating the most gorgeous dimensional shades. It looks so natural and effortless. I love it! I also appreciated  how gentle she was with my hair, usually I get stylists pulling and yanking my hair so bad I end up with a headache. The salon itself is immaculate and beautifully designed for a relaxing and calming atmosphere. They had the most wonderful green tea that I had many a cup of. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with such warmth and professionalism.
So if you have yet to be impressed by your regular colour and cut job you must pay Tomoyuki & Co a visit, you will not be disappointed.

Aveda Invati Three Step System- solutions for thinning hair

Hello lovelies!! Today's post is all about Aveda's newest creations for thinning hair which claims to reduce hair loss by 33%
I have very thin, fine hair which often comes out when brushing so I was really excited to try this out. I am a huge fan of Aveda products and believe they do what they say,I mean for the price you would hope they would.
Aveda says: Thicker, fuller hair is yours with our 97% naturally derived Invati system. Powered by ancient Ayurvedic wisdom fused with 21st century technology,it contains densiplex, an invigorating blend of Ayurvedic herbs that helps power Invati.
Here's how it works: Invati Exfoliating Shampoo removes build up that can clog pores and renews the scalp with wintergreen-derived salicylic acid.It has turmeric and ginseng which helps energise and rehabilitate the scalp around the follicles. It smells amazing, but if you're not into herbal scents you may not care for it, its very pungent.

Next is the Invati Thickening Conditioner which restores strength and improves hair elasticity, reducing breakage, with arginine derived from sugar beets and soy protein. It's specifically targeted for use on your scalp as well as ends. So you massage this into your scalp for about a minute or two before rinsing. It doesn't make your roots greasy at all. Leaves hair soft, shiny and detangled.

The last step in the programme, is the Invati Scalp Revitalizer which also contains densiplex, with turmeric and genseng, helps energise and revitalise the scalp around the follicles when massaged in.
It says to use this twice a day, spray eight times on each side of the head and massage into the scalp. This will not make your hair greasy at all, infact it gives it some volume and freshness.

For maximum results you really need to use all three in conjunction with eachother. I have been using this system for two months and I am on my second bottle of shampoo. It has made my hair feel clean and healthy and somewhat thicker straight after I have used it. I am still seeing a bit of fallout of hair when I brush. I wouldn't say its given me a full head of thick hair but its definitely made it feel a bit healthier and stronger. I will keep on using it for now.

Ok now for the prices!!

Exfoliating Shampoo    £19.50   200ml
  Thickening Conditioner  £21.50  200ml
Scalp Revitalizer           £43.00  150ml

New Hair Cut and Colour!!

Hello lovelies!! So I finally decided to get my hair cut and coloured after about 6 months of doing absolutely nothing with it!! I go through this all natural phase, were I suddenly want to grow my roots out and never colour my hair again. Well sometimes you just have to do what suites you and blonde, shoulder length hair suites me.
I always go to Headmasters in Guildford on a 'Me Monday' this service includes a whole head of highlights, cut/style and blow dry for £99. Headmasters is the only place I know that does this, that's pretty good for what you are getting. Most salons charge well over £100 just for half a head!! I refuse to pay that much, with Me Monday I feel like I'm getting my money's worth.

I have three colours put in, two brown tones and a light blonde. The darker tones were concentrated underneath my hair, with the blonde mainly on top and on the sides.
I had it cut in a long bob with it slightly shorter at the back. Its clean, tidy and fuss free. I love it!!

Thank you for stopping by! Let my know about your hair, are you happy with it? or do you fancy a change?

My Hair Care Essentials

These are my essential hair care products. I wash my hair about twice a week, and on the second of those washes, I do a deep condition, with my Macadamia deep hair repair mask. I mostly let my hair dry naturally but when I do blow dry it I use a heat activated leave in treatment to protect it. I always comb through my hair getting rid of any kinks or knots with my Tangle Teezer.

Macadamia Deep Hair Repair Mask
Aveda Colour Conserve Shampoo
AussiDeep Hair Repair Maske 3 Minute Miracle
Mark Hill No Knots
Kerasaste Ciment Thermique
Bumble&Bumble Sea Salt Spray

Thank you for reading :-) I would love to know what are some of your hair care favourites!

Mark Hill No Knots Detangling Spray

Hello! So I have super straight hair but once wet becomes a tangled mess! It must be the vigorous way I wash it haha. I use a  Tangle Teezer http://www.tangleteezer.com/ ( amaze, couldn't live without this) but my hair just pings and snaps no matter how well I've conditioned it. I have bought leave in sprays before but all they do is weigh my hair down and make it super greasy. So I came across this the other day in Boots. Its aptly named No Knots. It says at the bottom no tugs,no pulls, just manageable hair. Its right on the money honey! This is full of minerals and vitamins, smell yummy and you can use it through out the day to freshen up hair! I spritz on my washed, wet hair and my TT just glides through. This honestly is the first detangler that has worked and Ive tried a far few. I shall be using this by the pool and the beach :-)

Hair Colour Inspiration

Hello my six lovely followers ;-) so my natural hair colour is a mousy brown and I've got a bunch of highlights in that have grown out an inch. I am thinking of changing my hair colour to something like this. What do you think?

I love the contrast of these warm colours and especially for the fall. Shall I do it? Do you like it?

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo and Conditioner

As you may know Liz Earle is a firm favourite of mine and I was thrilled when she introduced a hair care range! One shampoo that suites all hair types, much like the beloved cleanse and polish and three conditioners one for dry hair, oily hair and normal hair. Each one protects and prolongs coloured hair.
The shampoo is SLS/SLES free, its got vitamin E, West African shea butter to moisturise plus apple and orange extracts to boost shine!

I don't think I will ever switch to another shampoo again, this is everything I expect and more from Liz Earle. My hair is super shiny, soft and manageable. Love it!

Aveda Damage Remedy- Daily Hair Repair

I love this product, I use it on my ends after I've washed my hair, to lock in moisture, detangle and prevent split ends. I think the whole Aveda range is brill and I love the smell too.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde- Go Blonder

This is a blonde colour inhancing leave in spray. It actually lightens up your roots too!
You spray it on to damp hair where ever you want to be blonder and blow dry as its heat activated.

I use this on my roots, and it lightens them considerably blending in nicely with the rest of my hair meaning less trips to the salon.
