Hair Colour Inspiration

Hello my six lovely followers ;-) so my natural hair colour is a mousy brown and I've got a bunch of highlights in that have grown out an inch. I am thinking of changing my hair colour to something like this. What do you think?

I love the contrast of these warm colours and especially for the fall. Shall I do it? Do you like it?

St Tropez Everyday Gradual Tan for face

Skincare and self tan in one! I am loving this! I get the medium/dark. I smells so fresh not a hint of nasty tan smell. It feels like a gel, melts into the skin beautifully without any stickiness. It contains Vitamin E and soothing Aloe Vera. It gradually builds a golden colour everyday. This for me is not only a pleasure to use, but it give the most natural look tan ever! Doesn't break me out either! Total winner! I use this every couple of days.

Updated skincare and Foundation Routine

Hey everybody, It's been awhile I know! Sorry! So my latest skincare and make-up loves!
In the morning I wash my face with Neutrogena 2 in 1 face wash, which is also a mask. I moisturise with Bare Minerals Purely Nourishing Moisturizer for combination skin, I have recently got this and I am totally in love with it! It is lightweight, controls oil, firms skin, and gives skin a healthy glow. Its got 100%  pure active soil in it. wow!

Then I use Garnier tinted under eye roll on in Light, and Amazing Concealer in Medium.
My New HG foundation!! (thank you to http://samanthaschuerman.blogspot.com/ who is my absolute fav guru! and she uses this) Estee Lauder Double Wear Light in Intensity 2.0  I have to say this the best foundation I have come across and I love my Revlon Colourstay, but this beats it! First off the texture is like silk, it glides on effortlessly, melting onto your skin making it baby soft. It feels like a moisturiser. I use my fingers with this because I love the way it feels, and I never like to use my fingers normally so that's saying something. The coverage is medium to full. The finish is dewy so if you like a matt finish set with powder. I set with MAC Prep+Prime.

I then apply my Chantecaille Aqua Blush in Enchanted, this is amazing!
Oil free cream blush with a cool water sensation that turns to powder on the skin, the pigment is immense and this does not budge! I was on a 16 hour flight with stop offs and this was still on my cheeks at the end of it bright and beautiful! I want one in every colour. They are mega expensive thought at £37 but amazing! Doesn't break me out at all! Love! I then set everything with MAC Prep+Prime Powder. My make-up stays put all day long!I only blot once! Before I was blotting 2-3 times!

Fragrance Wardrobe

I love fragrance! Everyone should have a fragrance wardrobe!! Whats that I hear you ask? Well its a collection of fragrances for different occasions, ie work, day, night, weekend, summer, winter and so on.
For work I like to wear something fresh and no over powering. If I'm going out for the evening, something more seductive, warm and sensual. For the weekend something sporty and lively.
Fragrances come in family's like floral, oriental, woody, fruity and fresh/citrus you may prefer fruity over floral so look for the fragrance base notes which will state what its main components are. I like oriental which is more spicy, and warm look for amber, musk and vanilla. Today I purchased Jennifer Aniston's perfume which is a "fruity/floral perfume, inspired by Jennifer Aniston’s earliest and most treasured recollections of scent. A captivating blend of blooming jasmine, citrus notes and a sensual musk base evoke long sunny days at the beach and balmy summer evenings." I love this, its smell exactly like Bobbi Brown Beach, that's why I like it so much. I also purchased D&G L'Impératrice. This opens with "top notes of rhubarb, red currant and juicy kiwi accord. Fresh watermelon accord in the heart of the fragrance creates a mouth-watering concoction that is then offset by the drama of pink cyclamen for an exhilarating fragrance sensation. The musky notes, sandalwood and grapefruit wood in the base notes are boisterous, brilliant and incredibly addictive" Love this oh my goodness its gorgeous!! I wear the La Roue de la fortune in the autumn. Nice big bottle, lasts a good few months.

Yankee Candles

I absolutely love candles and scents for the home. I have found Yankee Candles in Clintons would you believe. Today I got gorgeous French Vanilla and Clean Cotton Tea Lights which smells just like fresh laundry! I love that they are in these pretty jars too!
These are Americas best loved candles! I can see why, they come in all sorts of scents, like Strawberry Shortcake, Cinnamon, Baby Powder, Beach and tons more! I love them!!! You can actually smell these, I hate when I buy scented candles and you light them and hardly any smell comes out!
I shall be collecting each yummy scent.

The Power of Now- Eckhart Tolle

I have always been into the 'self help' books and I try to think I am quite spiritually aware. So I haven't read anything in quite sometime and I'm having those lost feelings again. So I have picked up a copy of The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. It is about learning to live in the now, not in the past and not in the future. By living and thinking in the here and now we can alleviate some of our (my) problems. I worry a lot about the future and what it holds and I also drag up past events that have scarred me which in turn could prevent me from achieving my future goals.
I think alot, my mind never stops so for me learning to think in the now is pretty helpful.
"You are here to enable the divine purpose of the universe to unfold. That is how important you are!"

Bourjois Bio Detox Foundation

A friend of mine at work showed me this foundation this morning and I just had to go out and get it!
It says it is an organic foundation with Chlorophyll which is a plant extract that brings oxygen into the skin and filters out pollution. It promotes a fresh and even complexion and detoxifies the skin.
It is medium to full coverage with a matt finish-sold! I got shade 53 Light Beige. I have super oily skin so when I tried this on the back of my hand I was like wow! Matt central! My friend had it on and was like I don't even need powder! This could be it... the HG... will try this baby out tomorrow and post a pic!
So I tried this out yesterday and got to say I am not impressed! It turned chalky and oily too quickly and totally vanished off my nose! Maybe it didn't like my moisturiser or my powder. I didn't like the colour too much either. Well it was a nice idea. It actually looks ok in the picture but I didn't like how it looked through out the day :-(

LUSH!

Hello all. So I picked up a few goodies from lush the other day! Yay! Mega raves about the Bubble Bars so I got The Comforter which smells sweet like candy it gives you a warm aroma of blackcurrants that soothes and relaxes you. It turns your bath water pink!! I love it!! Its amazing how much bubbles this produces and how moisturizing it is. This is great when you feel like you want to hide away from the world, it is exactly that... a comforter!

The second bubble bar I got was Blue Skys and Fluffy White Clouds, I absolutely love the smell of this! This has Patchouli Oil and Frankincense which give it a more earthy tone. This promotes peace and meditation and it ultra calming. The scent is sooo relaxing like being in a spa. and it turns your water blue! This has to be my favourite I love the smell of Frankincense.
Aqua Mirabilis

This beauty is a solid scrub bar which has cocoa and almond butter with moisturizes and ground almond shells that exfoliate your skin. This is perfect for troublesome areas like thighs, bums and forearms. It leaves skins smooth and very soft. It also has sandalwood and rose oils. I must say it does smell like biscuits but it does a superb job at making my backside super soft and smooth! yay!

Ok last but in no means least is the Bubble Gum Lip Scrub! This is utter genius! It bright pink sugar that smells and tastes of bubble gum! It exfoliates your lips and you can lick it off! It edible! Its made with exfoliating caster sugar and vegan flavour. This is fantastic I love it!!

Mineral Foundation

I have a love hate relationship with my BareMinerals, I mean sometimes it works, looks great and other times it just does nothing for me. I used swear by Bare Minerals and when the Matte version came out I was overjoyed. Well, I tried my BM Matte the other day, got into the office and looked in the mirror,I looked like I didn't have a stitch of makeup on my face! Its all very well that it is natural and a little goes along way, but I really don't want to have to layer 5 layers of powder till I see some moderate coverage.
I rather wear one layer of full coverage foundation. I got a mini sample of Jane Iredale and had high hopes for it... well it had no coverage what so ever :-( Perhaps if my skin was amazingly smooth and clear it may work but for now I'm sticking with liquids.

Weekly Treats

So along with your fabulous skincare regime ;-) its a good idea to treat your skin to a scrub or a cleansing mask a couple of times a week. A regular usage of a scrub will help slough off those dead skin cells making for a fresher smoother surface, it will also maximise the absorption of your serum and moisturizer. A weekly mask will (depending on your skin type and need) draw out any impurities, hydrate dry skin and deep cleanse congested skin. I like to put s mud mask on from Liz Earle which uses all natural ingredients, about once a week in the bath for about 20 mins. The heat from the bath water will open your pores making your mask work wonders.
If you want to give yourself a complete facial, you can cleanse, scrub and then put on your mask following after with the rest of your skincare regime.
A great non abrasive exfoliant is the Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant, this is great for sensitive skins too! It smoothes on just like a cream which you leave on for about 10-15 mins.
"A convenient two-in-one mask/exfoliation treatment, Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant provides chemical exfoliation using lactic acid and salicylic acid, which slough off the dead skin cells, speeding cell renewal, while extracts of lavender, aloe vera and cornflower help soothe skin. Contains no artificial fragrance or colour. "
This stuff is amazing!! My skin feel super smooth after this! Love it!

Waterbobble!!

oooh look what I found!! I read about this in the Liz Earle seasonal news letter. Its called the Waterbobble.http://www.waterbobble.com/ It houses a tiny filter inside the bottle that purifies your water as you drink it! Genius! So not only is it environmentally friendly ( and end to throwing away endless plastic bottles) it saves you a ton of money too! I ordered mine today! It comes in all colours and sizes.

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo and Conditioner

As you may know Liz Earle is a firm favourite of mine and I was thrilled when she introduced a hair care range! One shampoo that suites all hair types, much like the beloved cleanse and polish and three conditioners one for dry hair, oily hair and normal hair. Each one protects and prolongs coloured hair.
The shampoo is SLS/SLES free, its got vitamin E, West African shea butter to moisturise plus apple and orange extracts to boost shine!

I don't think I will ever switch to another shampoo again, this is everything I expect and more from Liz Earle. My hair is super shiny, soft and manageable. Love it!

Aveda Damage Remedy- Daily Hair Repair

I love this product, I use it on my ends after I've washed my hair, to lock in moisture, detangle and prevent split ends. I think the whole Aveda range is brill and I love the smell too.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde- Go Blonder

This is a blonde colour inhancing leave in spray. It actually lightens up your roots too!
You spray it on to damp hair where ever you want to be blonder and blow dry as its heat activated.

I use this on my roots, and it lightens them considerably blending in nicely with the rest of my hair meaning less trips to the salon.

Mary Kay TimeWise 3in1 Cleanser for Oily/Combination skin

So I received my Mary Kay TimeWise 3 in 1 cleanser over the weekend after the rave reviews it got from my favourite beauty guru ever Samantha Schuerman! http://samanthaschuerman.blogspot.com/   I have used this a few times, and it removed my Revlon Colourstay completely! It is anti-ageing and formulated for sensitive skin. It contains tiny exfoliating beads that deep cleanse without over drying the skin. My face feels squeaky clean afterwards, not tight or dry at all. I might have to purchase the moisturizer too!

Complexion Perfection - Kate Somerville

I have just ordered this book and can not wait to read it!!! Perfect complexion? Yes please!!

Primer

A primer is a gel like substance that you apply after your moisturizer to help prolong your make-up.
It creates a smooth base insuring your foundation applies smoothly without sinking into your pores.
If you want your make-up to look fresh all day and last longer, a primer is what you need!
My favourites are Laura Mercier, Nars and Mac.

Serums

A serum is a concentrated treatment that you apply before your moisturizer. It penetrates the deeper layers of your skin where your moisturizer can't reach. Your moisturizer addresses the top layer of your skin. There a all kinds of serums that address different issues: Hydrating, firming, pigmentation, brightening, illuminating, pore minimizing, etc. I like the Estee Lauder ones and the MAC ones also Caudelie has a fantastic one for pigmentation.

ELDW VS REVLON CS

Ok so I have been wearing ELDW Light foundation for the past couple of days, Ive applied with fingers, a brush and today with BeautyBlender! I still on the fence about this one. It does look good when first applied but by the end of the day it looks like a lot on your face. I think this is breaking me out as well.
So I am going to use Revlon CS tomorrow and make my final decision.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light

oooh so I got a sample of ELDW Light in 02 yesterday which I am testing out today! So far so good!! Its nothing like the original, it feels like a moisturizer and blends in so easily. I applied with my fingers and set with MAC Prep&Prime powder. I'm rather impressed at the moment, let see at 5pm.

My Evening Skincare Regime

I have found a regime that works for me and that I have stuck to for a number of years barr facewash.
So every evening without fail I remove my make up with my trusty Liz Earl Hot Cloth Cleanser. This stuff is superb!
It is a concentrated cream that gently removes all your make-up in one easy step, used with a hot soaked muslin cloth to gently exfoliate your skin. It contains naturally active ingredients-Rosemary,chamomile, cocoa butter and eucalyptus essential oil. This removes all traces of make-up even mascara!
I finish off with a splash of cool water and Liz Earls Instant Boost Skin Tonic. This closes the pores and prepares your skin for moisturizer or treatment products. This is lovely as well, it contains organic aloe vera, calendula, rose scented geranium,
cucumber and natural vitamin E.

Then I use my Dermalogica Overnight Clearing Gel all over my face, like a serum. This is amazing I could not live without it!

Ok so, in the morning I just use a gentle face was, my new love is Kate Somerville Gentle Daily Wash
Kate Somerville is the go to dermatologist for the A-list celebs  in America. I found out the Space Nk were stockists so hot footed it down there and picked up this little beauty! Its for all skin types/sensitive and is sulfate free. I wanted something gentle to use in the morning as your face isn't really dirty when you wake up, it just needs refreshing. This says it effectively cleanses skin without irritating it. It has soothing botanicals and essential oils. It helps free skin of bacteria and pore clogging debris. This is a fantastic face wash, I feel a difference in my skin the second I rinse this off, I am definitely going try more of her range!

Ok, so after this I apply my Givenchy Skin Targetters Skin Embellishing Serum Pore Minimizer.

I then use my Givenchy Hydra Sparkling- Mat Luminescence Moisturizing Fluid for Oily Skin. I find this hydrates nicely without feeling heavy on the skin or sticky. I'm quite pleased with this one I must say :-) but will probably switch to something with an SPF for the summertime.

Face of the Day!!

Hello everyone!! Today I am wearing YSL Teint Resist oil free spf 10 foundation in the shade05.
I applied this with my fingers. I must say I quite like this, it goes on smooth and velvety and drys to a powder finish. I always say when you buy a foundation before you dismiss it you must apply it every which way you can till you find the way it applies the best. I find with the YSL it works best smoothed out with fingers. It is the texture of the product its very thin, the BB (beauty blender) will just swallow it all up! I like this as a weekend foundation when I don't want lots of coverage or extra powder. For work today I set it with Lancome Colour Ideal Poudre in 01, lets see how this last throughout the day!
I always test my foundations at work, because if they make it through my long and hectic day they make it through anything!

YouTube

I am also in thoughts of a youtube channel ... again I am new at this so, you know, please be nice :-)
I was thinking my foundation routine? Step by step on what I do to get ready in the morning, my skincare regime etc.

Foundation of the day!

So at the moment I have been loving Revlon Colourstay Foundation for combination oily skin. I have been wearing it everyday for a month now and this could be my HG! This is by far one of the best foundations I have ever tried and I have tried a lot!! The colour match is perfect, I apply it with my beloved Beauty Blender and set with MAC Prep&Prime powder. It lasts all day and I only have to blot once, which is amazing as most foundations go oily on me in about an hour after application. I think its better than Estee Lauder DoubleWear!
Oh, I take pictures of my face at work daily just to see how looks or if I'm wearing a different foundation then I decide which looks the best on me.
