Hempz- Original Herbal Body Moisturizer

Hello lovelies! My skin has been causing me so much aggro this winter. Nothing seems to be moisturising enough! I was in my local beauty salon when I came across  Hempz pure herbal extracts original body moisturizer. Apparently this is Katy Perry's favourite! I had never heard about this before. I tried some on my hands and fell inlove with its powerful fruity scent and luxurious texture. It contains 100% pure natural hemp seed oil, that hydrates and nourishes skin. Shea butter and ginseng help to calm and soothe skin. It is paraben free, gluten free and 100% vegan!
I bought a 500ml bottle which cost £15. This is a deeply moisturising body lotion that has just soothed my parched winter skin. It smells of strawberry and bananna which wisk me away to tropical islands. Loving this stuff!

Winter Skin Savers

Winter is upon us and its only going to get colder brrrrrrr! Now is the time to really bump up your skincare to really nourish your skin from head to toe. Our poor faces take the brunt of the cold ( unless you re wearing a balaclava) going from warm and cosy central heating to icy cold winds is going to play havoc on your skin. It's important to change up your skincare to suit your current needs. I'm super oily most of the year, but as soon as winter hits, my face and body dry up like a prune. I switch my daily fluid moisturiser for oily skin to a richer cream for dry skin. My cleanser stays the same as its perfect all year round! ( yes ofcourse its Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish) After my night-time cleansing I like to add a face oil for extra comfort and repair. My favourite is Liz Earle Superskin Concentrate this is fab for all skin types, contains 100% pure plant oils to re balance skin while you sleep. This really plumps up skin making it feel supple and fresh. This smells amazing and helps me relax before bed.
For my body, especially my legs, I have been using Nivea Rescue & Care 48h body lotion. This calms my itchy, dry skin making it feel smooth and nourished. It's not greasy or gloopy, it absorbs instantly into my skin. This is very good if you've just shaved your legs! No stinging! It is fragrance free too.

My lips are the worst at this time of year, they get so dry and cracked. Aquaphor Lip Repair is the only lip treatment that actually soothes my lips. I only need to use this twice a day it's that good! Other lip balms work temporarily but this actually improves the condition of my lips. I can not be with out it!

What products do you like to use in the winter months?

Thanks for reading :)

The Importance of Double Cleansing

Hello lovelies! Whilst reading the cleansing cheat sheet from the fabulous Caroline Hirons blog Link
it occurred to me that perhaps my evening cleansing ritual is in fact not cleansing enough.

I am a huge believer in balm cleansers and washcloths as this is the best method of cleansing for me.
I normally rotate between EH Amazing Face and Liz Earl Cleanse and Polish.
Caroline says that you should cleanse twice when wearing makeup and sunscreen as these are designed to adhere to the skin and one cleanse is not sufficient enough to thoroughly clean your skin. Caroline says the only time she cleanses once is if she has been indoors all day with no make up on! This makes sense and I apply this to how I wash my hair as well, the first cleanse/ wash removes all the dirt and grime/build up the second cleanse works at getting those ingredients (which is why you bought the product in the first place) into your skin and getting the most out of them on a deeper level rather than just surface otherwise you are merely washing it away with your makeup and not benefiting from the true ingredients.

So last night I double cleansed with my Liz Earl Polish and low and behold it made a huge difference! My pores looked like they had been vacuumed, my skin was glowing, supple and when I went to put my Liz Earl Superskin Concentrate, it literally just melted into my new found skin. I woke up this morning to a beautiful, clear, nourished face! So from now on ladies and gentlemen I am doing the double cleanse!

Do you have a cleansing routine or are you a soap and water kind of person? Do tell!
